Festival Season in Atlanta

This past weekend was the annual Dogwood Festival in Piedmont Park (my park because is less than 100 yards from my home) and 420 Fest at Candler Park (a park that is only a few miles away).

Ben and I enjoyed each festival this weekend and it was a great way to spend time with friends/family, hear good music, and see the city in bloom.

Saturday morning I woke up early and worked out in Piedmont Park (I was so early the vendors had not even shown up at their tents - shocking, I know).

Ben's parents stopped by to say hello and visit for a bit on their way out of the park.  So nice to see them so often!

Later that afternoon, we mosied over to my friend Kayte and Ben's home, they live at the end of my block, on the park,  for a cook out with friends to celebrate Dogwood (this is their 2nd festival gathering...I think it is a tradition now!)

Good times on their rooftop...you can see my building directly in the center of photo.

Later that evening Ben and I ventured over to Candler Park to hear Dirty Dozen Brass Band at the 420 Fest.  It was so much fun to run into my old friends from Sullivan's Island, Katherine and Peanut (Mark),  who have just recently moved back to Atlanta.

While this is less than a decent photo of Peanut, I must still include...sorry, Peanut:

Good times in Atlanta and Happy Festival Season!

Eggs with History and Precision

These are the mugs I used as a child to dye my eggs. My dye is just as perfect as my Daddy's.  The water temperature is just hot enough, my drops of  food coloring are precise (especially for the purple and orange), and the white wine vinegar...well, as a Walker, you just know the perfect amount.
As my Mama reads this...she will think to herself or call me and say, "Martha Jane, this just makes me think of you!  Your favorite color and such a pretty Robin Egg Blue."

If you know Jan - you can hear it too. - and she is right;  My favorite color and the perfect Robin Egg Blue

 WOW!

4mths - 4lbs & Still Confused

Renny was born December 20, 2009.  She is 4 months old today and she weighs 4 lbs (as of 5 days ago).  She looks like this today and she is often referred to as "Holy Terror".

Lyla is still a bit confused as to why Holy Terror insist on eating at the same time she does? Why Holy Terror meows so loud at such a high pitch?  Why Holy Terror is OBSESSED with TRYING to destroy anything that is alive and green in the house? ....Lyla looks like this today, while still confused.
4 mths - 4 lbs or Still Confused, I am delighted to come home to these two!
