I may or may not keep my clothes, shoes, and accessories like my mama did, to pull out to my children one day and say, "look what mama wore, I always had my own sense of style."
I may just take a few pics of what I love now in my closet, jewlery box, and drawers to show my kids of what my style is/was at 28 so I can remember and have proof I was cool (or at least my mind I was).
Okay, so I may not keep as may things as my mama. Note: My mama still has her bikini she wore when she was in Miss Greer (she won bathing suit competition), she still has her knee high boots from the 60's (which I wish I could wear), a few jump suits, wedding dress (of course), purse she took to her senior prom...just to name a few. I remember the smell of each item she would pull out as trends circled back around (they ALWAYS do!) and I remember picturing what she must have looked like...
My mama is the reason I love shoes and accessories (wink wink Mama) and I think I may just have to keep a few...so one day my children will remember the smell and picture what I looked like...
BUT...Just in case I do not keep all of my favorites, I think I will post soon about what it is I have and love in my wardrobe today...

Tour de Cure
May 16, 2010 Tyrone, GA
Ben rode 100 miles, a century, to raise money for the American Diabetes Association. I am so proud of him! He exceeded his goal of raising $500.00! The American Diabetes Association is very close to both of our hearts and to both of our families. My Uncle Steve died from complications with his diabetes and Ben's dad, Tony, has diabetes.
Go Ben and Congratulations!

5 months later
5 months ago I adopted Renny because I had this perfect vision of Lyla having a playmate, a sister, a side-kick. I often wondered if I had made the right decision for Lyla...after all, there was blood shed, hissing, and much needed seperation of the two. I knew Renny was mine (and Ben's too), but today I realized Renny was now Lyla's playmate, sister, and side kick. Oh, I just love when a plan comes together!

We Shoot the Hooch
"Shooting the Hooch," is what we say in Atlanta for tubing down the Chatahoochee River. Ben and I have gone 3 times now this summer. Once for 6 miles (it took 6 hours), once with Anne, Ben's sister, for 3 miles (3 hours and see pic below), and once with our friends Kate and Mike for 3 miles, this past Saturday. It is a wonderful way to see the beautiful side of Atlanta, peaceful and quiet. We bought our rafts at the Bass Pro Shop. We just load our cooler, blow up our rafts, and hop in!
I'm listening to...
Taj Mahal's greatest hits today. It puts a pep in my step while doing Monday home "maintenance." It makes me think of my siblings. It makes me whistle.

Cloth Napkins
I love to use them. They make even "frozen pizza night" special. I think I could make my own if I were to have a sewing machine, which, hopefully I will in near future.

New Purchase for Home & Tip
Acer Aspire One 10.1
I love it- It is FAST
- Battery Life is Amazing
- It is cute (and blue)
- It fits in my purse!
I purchased at Office Depot. The catch is this: Target was having a major sale on this item (33% off) and was sold out. Found out on a review of item that Office Depot will match competitors price on all items as long as there is a physical location of store having sale. I went to Office Depot, pulled up sale on my iPhone, and was able to get at same sale price.

Porch Garden Today
Wandering Jew (salvaged and rooted from this winter).

Wandering Jenny (my new fav to use for hanging baskets this year), last year's dusty miller and thyme, chives.

Sweet bell peppers.

Spearmint, lemon thyme, and aloe.

Delicious cherry tomatoes.

Strawberries

My advice - Water. Lots. Period.

Blogpress iPhone application
I just downloaded the BlogPress iPhone application, for just $2.99, to help with "on the go" updates. "On the go" is usually my status as well as yourself, I'm sure.
Hopefully this application will allow me to make more frequent posts which will make my sister, Ellen, love me more than she already does (wink wink). I have received quite the wrath for not updating recently...don't mess with a 7 mth preggers in the dead heat of July. Kidding. I just like to reference her pregnancy as much as possible bc she is sooooo adorable right now with Foster Perry in her belly.
This is a test.
