WHEW!

Time to start blogging again.  In the past six weeks I have been doing the following:

Clearwater Florida for 4 days - Bachelorette Party for Kayte Stanbery
Black Rock Mountain, GA 3 days - Camping Get-a-way
Lake Tahoe, CA 2 days - Jonathan Boncek's Wedding
San Francisco - 3 days - Pleasure
Cincinnati 1 day - job interview with Paycor
Miami  8 days - work conference at Fontainbleau
Asheville - 3 days for Sara Bader's wedding

During this time away, my nephew, Foster Perry Pangle, was born! (He will have his own post).  I hated to be away for his birth, but have been able to love him up in between trips.   Also, unplanned or expected, I was offered a wonderful opportunity with a competitor in the payroll industry...AND after 4 wonderful years at Paychex, I resigned two weeks ago today.  It was a very hard decision, but I am very happy to now be an employee of Paycor Inc.

I am so excited to share all of my photos from my recent adventures!  Although I have not had much down time, I will say that I could not be any happier with life, work, family, friends and my relationship with Ben!

I am a true believer that God  never gives you more than you can handle!

Sometimes a Snob

Wine Snob

Last night 8 of my best girl friends had a wine party at my friend Kate's condo.  We have been working really hard and needed a break.  We dressed up, we had fine cheeses, chocolate, grapes, strawberries, and most importantly fine wine.   We sampled 6 different wines and paired them with the previously mentioned foods.  We studied the grape, vineyard, and fermentation process, we adored the smells, admired the color, and of course with each sip we swirled in our mouths, we were delighted with their taste.

While in Charleston, I fell in love with the art of wine making and learning as much as I could.  It was nice to revisit my wine snob days with girls in the city.

Cashiers, NC

Last weekend, we went to Cashiers, NC for Julie & Robert Standard's wedding at the High Hampton Inn.  The weather was perfect (fall is on it's way), the bride was beautiful, the band was AMAZING, and we had the best time dancing with our friends!

Handsome & Silly Men!

The girls.
Sunday morning Ben and I drove to Sylva, North Carolina to pick up a new bicycle purchase from ebay.  It was a beautiful 40 mile drive from Cashiers.  We listened to good tunes, rolled the windows down, and had a delicious lunch out side in the little mountain town.  Perfect.

Enjoying a quick stop to take in the view on drive home.

Ocean Reminders

I love shells and love the memories I have made searching for them. My collection has found it's home in my plant pots.

Cicadas

I hear them every night when I am watering my plants. I'm listening to one now. It sounds like a bicycle coasting down twelfth street.

Every evening I look over my balcony thinking the noise i hear is Ben coasting down twelfth. He often passes by on his bicycle cruises in the evening - not tonight though.

Thank you Cicadas... There is still a peace in your sound, at my Home In The City!

Getaway to Sea Island, GA

Ben and I went to Sea Island for a weekend getaway in June.  The Callaway's have a family friend that has a home there.  We were so excited to be able to go there and it was MORE than a treat.  Our get away was a Thursday - Sunday trip.  We returned back to Atlanta and returned back to same house for a Wednesday - Sunday family vacation with the Callaways.  Separate post to come for round 2 of Sea Island.

We rode a tandem bicycle the whole weekend.  So perfect, appropriate, and FUN.

One of John Portman's homes, Entelechy II, is on Sea Island.  He is a world famous architect from Atlanta and this home is AMAZING.  This island is full of beautiful homes that are oozing with unique architecture and character.

Bring the Heat!

Ben and I are out on our bikes. We just stopped by to say hello to our friend Steve, the "King of Pops". His cart is in the Highlands at corner of N Avenue and N Highland to get a refreshing treat. I got the plum granita and Ben got the orange basil. Yumm!

Ben's new shirt. He loves soft t's.

Now we are on the porch at our other friends' restaurant in the old fourth ward, Across the Street. We are having margaritas, some guacamole, and listening to our friend Wesley spinning some old school reggae.

It's hot, but we have most certainly managed to chill! Happy Sunday!
